Meet Dr. Michael Shimmel
PresidentFor more than 40 years, Dr. Michael Shimmel has been helping patients throughout Stow, Kent, and Northeast Ohio overcome pain, restore function, and improve their quality of life. Since opening Stow Kent Chiropractic in 1986, he has built a reputation for compassionate care, clinical excellence, and a commitment to staying at the forefront of chiropractic and regenerative technologies.
Dr. Shimmel earned his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Logan College of Chiropractic (now Logan University) and has spent his career combining traditional chiropractic care with the latest evidence-based therapies to help patients avoid unnecessary medications and surgery.
In 2018, Dr. Shimmel became board-certified in Peripheral Neuropathy and has helped patients suffering from numbness, tingling, burning, balance problems, and chronic nerve pain using advanced non-invasive treatment protocols.
His practice also features SoftWave Tissue Regeneration Technology (TRT), an advanced shockwave therapy designed to stimulate the body’s natural healing response, improve circulation, reduce inflammation, and promote tissue repair. This innovative technology has helped patients with chronic joint pain, tendon injuries, arthritis, plantar fasciitis, neuropathy, and many other musculoskeletal conditions.
Beyond patient care, Dr. Shimmel has remained active in the community throughout his career. He has served as team chiropractor for Streetsboro High School athletics and is a past president of the Tri-County Chiropractic Association, reflecting his commitment to both his profession and the local community.
